Spring is around the corner and the flowers are soon to bloom! With the change in seasons and longer days approaching, we often receive many location requests for fashion shoots.

We have many private locations on our books suitable for all types of fashion photography. One in particular, The Heaselands Estate, offers a variety of exterior locations for photographers, not just for Spring but all year round…

The Heaselands Estate – a stunning location for fashion photography

The Heaselands Estate sits in West Sussex, less than 40 miles from central London. Hosting 1200 acres of grounds there are numerous spaces for shoots – from fields, tracks and country roads, to paddocks, ponds, and pathways.

Amid these surroundings sits the Heaselands’ country manor house, offering a stunning backdrop with its Arts and Crafts architecture. In addition, a Grade II listed mansion, originally built in 1852 as the main house, can be found by a sweeping drive. The exterior provides a beautiful setting for fashion photography with fantastic views and access to rolling lawns and stunning gardens.

Heaselands’ cultivated gardens really steal the show with flowers and shrubs strategically planted to provide stunning backdrops all year. Every season offers dynamic visuals and texture for every type of photoshoot. For Spring, photographers are treated to explosive colours from mature rhododendrons, azaleas, and bluebells. Summer sees the estate’s sunken garden come to life with pink and white roses before Autumn welcomes hues of reds, oranges and golds all around.

The estate’s wild gardens present a contrast to the formality of the grounds nearer the manor house. Lush meadows and grassy paths lead through “garden rooms” filled with seasonal flowers month to month.

On from the gardens and Heaselands’ woodland offer a magical location for shoots. While the wooded space is stunning in all seasons, Spring is awash with bluebells and vast bushes of bright pink, red, orange, yellow and purple azaleas and rhododendrons.

As well as the wooded areas, the estate boasts beautiful farmland with open spaces, ponds and tracks. It features a derelict farm with barns, silos and other buildings, including a working dairy. In contrast to the main buildings and gardens, the area provides a gritty atmosphere and sense of abandonment, making it a great location for photography.

Whatever the season, Heaselands offers an outstanding range of outdoor spaces for all types of photography. The private location is also open to enquiries for film, TV and commercial shoots, with a large hardstanding area idea for a unit base.
