Shinfield Studios is an exciting new UK Film, TV Studio & production hub currently in development. 13 fully soundproofed and air conditioned stages are open now, with more film and tv studio facilities opening on a rolling basis over the next year. A further five stages are due to be completed by 2024.
Building on the UK’s global reputation for producing world class content, Shinfield Studios will offer film and television producers nearly 1 million sq ft of studio space, comprised of 18 new purpose-built sound stages, workshop and mill space plus a contemporary office environment and post production facility.
Our film and TV studios will create a substantial and diverse range of employment opportunities and will enhance the innovation-led strategy at the Thames Valley Science Park established by our partner, the University of Reading, in conjunction with Wokingham Council.
About
Established in 2021, Shinfield Studios is a state of the art, purpose-built studio facility located close to Reading in Berkshire. The studios are within Wokingham Borough’s Thames Valley Science Park, ideally situated with great transport links – 30 mins by rail to central London from Reading and 30 mins by car from Heathrow Airport. The studios are easily accessible for crew and talent, with plenty of parking on site.
Phase 1 and 2 of the studio is now complete – nine stages, workshops and offices, available to hire.
Construction of Phase 3 is underway with 9 more stages opening in phases, delivering on a rolling basis through Spring 2024.
Stages & Backlot
Shinfield has 13 newly built sound stages with another 5 in development. The entire 18 stage studio site will be complete by early 2024. All our stages are built with film and tv production needs in mind – large, flexible spaces with excellent height and lighting gantrys and all the equipment you would expect in newly created stages. Air conditioning and heating is the norm for us. Our stages are all close to new workshops too. We also have a hard standing backlot perfect for construction of exterior sets. This is circa 9 acres in size.
Workshops
Shinfield Studios currently has 17 worskhops – ranging from 4,000 sq ft to 14,800 sq ft and can cater for any size of film or TV production. These are all multi-functional workshop spaces, all conveniently located close to the stages and purpose-built for film and TV production.
Offices
We offer a wide range of ‘On the Lot’ office suites that are either connected to Stages/Workshops or are stand alone. Within these buildings you will find open-plan areas as well as smaller private executive offices and meeting rooms. All have been newly built to a high specification and comply with sustainability and access requirements adopted across the studio site. The office suites are flexible, modern spaces suited to every type of production and department – art, costume, accounts, editorial, executive suites.
