FulwellCain Studios Limited in conjunction with Sunderland City Council is excited to present ambitious proposals to develop a world-class film and high-end TV production facility on a prominent brownfield site on the south bank of the River Wear – the Pallion Shipyard in Sunderland which has been closed since the 1980s.

The state-of-the-art facilities will deliver a hub for skills and innovation to support the objectives of the UK’s film and TV industries. This is an unprecedented opportunity to reshape the geography of the screen industries in the UK.

The proposals will make a huge contribution to ‘levelling up’ by establishing the largest studio complex outside of London and the south east. Importantly, the proposals will deliver significant employment opportunities and will help to drive economic growth in Sunderland and the wider region.
